Kick-off DUT projects

Gonçalo Correia, Marith Dieker, Arjan van Binsbergen, and Qiaochu Fan participated in the kick-off of the DUT projects funded in the Netherlands by NWO and SIA. The event was a significant milestone for the V2G-QUESTS project, which aims to enhance sustainable urban development through innovative vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions.

 

During the event, Gonçalo Correia presented the project’s objectives, methodology, and implementation plans in the selected districts of Portugal, The Netherlands, and Estonia. He highlighted the interdisciplinary approach of the V2G-QUESTS project, emphasizing the integration of advanced technologies with community-driven initiatives to achieve sustainable and equitable energy solutions.

 

Marith Dieker introduced the citizens’ engagement work package (WP), showcasing specific examples of ongoing activities in Utrecht. She detailed how engaging local communities is vital for the success of the project, ensuring that the solutions developed are not only technically sound but also socially acceptable and beneficial. Her presentation underscored the importance of participatory processes in the implementation of V2G technologies.

 

Arjan van Binsbergen and Qiaochu Fan contributed to the discussions, sharing insights on the technical and logistical aspects of the project. Their expertise in energy systems and urban planning provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s scope and potential impact.

 

Gonçalo Correia concluded the session by participating in a panel discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of funding programs like DUT for promoting sustainability in urban environments. The panel explored how such programs can drive innovation and collaboration, addressing both opportunities and challenges in the pursuit of greener cities.
