V2G-QUESTS Presented at the 19th Symposium Energy Innovation EnInnov2026
On 11–13 February 2026, the V2G-QUESTS project was presented at the 19th Symposium Energy Innovation EnInnov2026 in Graz, Austria. The conference provided an excellent platform to share recent research results on the integration of electric mobility and distribution grid operation in Positive Energy Districts.
Robert Gaugl introduced the project’s integrated and behaviour-aware modelling framework, which links survey insights, agent-based mobility modelling, and power system optimization.
Within V2G-QUESTS, daily mobility patterns are translated into charging time series using an Agent-Based Model (ABM). These charging profiles are then embedded into a cost-minimized Optimal Power Flow (OPF) formulation of the distribution grid. This approach enables a consistent coupling of mobility behaviour, EV adoption, renewable generation, and grid constraints.
The methodology will be applied to the three V2G-QUESTS case study districts:
  • Aradas (Aveiro, Portugal)
  • Kanaleneiland (Utrecht, The Netherlands)
  • Annelinn (Tartu, Estonia)
